Behind the Lens

I grew up in North Vancouver, BC and have lived all over the lower mainland but now call Fort St. John (FSJ) home.

I have two boys, they are my pride and joy! The first seven years of their lives was what I call survival mode. I was a single parent with very little help from their fathers. I did not drive, and fought to keep a job while paying for daycare and rent. Life is much better now.

Today, I capture families, mothers and women the way I wished that I was captured. My goal is to make you feel something when you look at my works from the heart.

My passion for photography sparked after I met my husband Todd, when things got calmer and I was able to sit back and really soak in life and find myself again.

I love the desert and the mountains. Sunsets, a good red wine and intimate conversations.

I don't want to just give you photos,

I want you to have a tangible memory to cherish

I started as a boudoir photographer, then after some soul searching, began capturing motherhood journeys as well

All of us have been negatively impacted by cancer. I watched my dad take his last breath in 2020 when lung cancer took him from us. Do you know what I would do to have professional portraits with him before he passed? Anything! Especially given our relationship history, it makes it so much more worse to not have any photos with him. My dad’s partner battled and overcame breast cancer. Ovarian cancer claimed my nana. I’ve experienced and witnessed the hurricane of damage it’s done to families throughout my lifetime.

I had no idea how much interest there would be something like this, and there was! but moreover, I had no idea how impactful your stories would be and the emotional effect it would take over me which is even more affirming. I had to make it a little more “official”.

I have been given the gift of seeing people on a deeper level through my lens and I feel a tug, a responsibility even to share it. My business is small but there is always room to give back.

I present,

- The Pink Portrait Project -

With this project I am able to provide complimentary portrait sessions to small families or couples battling cancer that would like timeless portraits during this difficult time and not have to worry about the financial aspect of hiring a photographer.

ANGELA MOODY MAKEUP ARTISTRY will be offering complimentary makeup and hair styling for the women.

Sessions will be held IN THE STUDIO. If you are not able to come to the studio, we can discuss possible alternative options. We are only able to offer a limited amount of these sessions annually so we hope not to offend anyone if we are not able to accept your application this year.
